vuttaṁ hetaṁ bhagavatā, vuttam-arahatā ti me sutaṁ:

“tayome bhikkhave addhā. katame tayo? atīto addhā, anāgato addhā, paccuppanno addhā. ime kho bhikkhave tayo addhā” ti.

etam-atthaṁ bhagavā avoca, tatthetaṁ iti vuccati:

“akkheyyasaññino sattā akkheyyasmiṁ patiṭṭhitā,

−−−⏑¦⏑−−−¦¦−⏑−−¦⏑−⏑−
akkheyyaṁ apariññāya yogam-āyanti maccuno, [1]

−−−⏑¦⏑−−−¦¦−−−−¦⏑−⏑−
akkheyyañ-ca pariññāya akkhātāraṁ na maññati,

−−⏑−¦−⏑⏑−¦¦−⏑⏑⏑¦⏑−⏑− bhavipulā Metre: Note that we have 2 successive light syllables in 2nd & 3rd positions in this half of the pādayuga, something that is normally avoided; we might have expected to find a reading santīpadaṁ to correct the metre.
phuṭṭho vimokkho manasā santipadam-anuttaraṁ. [2]

sa ve akkheyyasampanno santo santipade rato,

−−⏑−¦−−−−¦¦−−−−¦⏑−⏑− mavipulā
saṅkhāya sevī dhammaṭṭho saṅkhyaṁ nopeti vedagū” ti. [3]

ayam-pi attho vutto bhagavatā, iti me sutan-ti.
